Recently found those strange pictures that make me think about a book I've read several years ago. Kobo Abe "The Box man". I have rather a strande taste in my choises of wahr to read , but this psychological novel (like all the others of Kobo Abe though) left me in anxiety , with a strong will to look inside. It tells about the man who consciously chose to live in a box , just cutting out a little window to see the world. A hidden desire to a woman whom he sees , but for her remains just a piece of paper - kills him at the end. But all the feelings and thoughts described by Kobo Abe are really worth reading. Strongly reccomend!!!
Just entered home from another movie - evening, we have a film festival going on now, you know... No, surely I'm not in Cannes , a bit too late you would have said.. I'm in my hometown , and maybe not much of you know about Odessa (Ukraine) but I'm really happy that we have our second film festival after 22 year of silence.. The first one was held in 1988, the year of my birth... All this stuff about the red carpet (don't laugh but we had it) interested me less of all, but the perspective to see some really good films. Sincerely, I didn't expect much avantgarde or arthouse , though today I've seen a great surrealistic film , which makes me say "wow". http://symbol-movie.jp/
going out from the movie hall I've discussed a film with my friend and it seemed to me that it won't be even sold, or layed out in internet , as the story : a young men who touches thousands of tiny penises on the walls and they realise his wishes - ehhmmmm ..... it was funny and very sweet, but I don't believe it can be bought... A great symbolic sense which lies between the lines, as for me, is not accessible even for the tenth part of the people who'll see it...
How surprised was I when searching on internet some pics from the film the first I've found was a webpage that told that the costume of the main hero is furnished by a famous japanese Brand BATHING APE or BAPE ,(some links for you: http://hollars-dollars.com/a-bathing-ape-x-symbol/ , http://www.highsnobiety.com/news/2009/08/24/symbol-x-a-bathing-ape-collection/) and further more - it was created a collection of T-shirts and accessories after the film...
At that moment I've remembered my sociology professor who said that the the logic of fashion penetrates everywhere , and from now even in the most poorly commercial movie I've maybe ever seen ... It makes me think about this phenomen and I ask myself what whas the brand thinking of creating pieces regarding this film.. Or was a whole film, a whole story, a whole phylosophical way we've made created only to promote a pijama? can we understand now really what was the archi-reason of all that stuff? ...
A symbol of phallus and a thought that it's a the most ancient symbol of fertility and continuation of humanity - today becomes a symbol of death and of the end. I really liked this idea... The more we know - less we sleep, less we live, less we enjoy.. Maybe a message is to return to a more simple and naive life, I don't know.. If you have thoughts about just comment , I would be glad to know any opinion..

The 10 photos I've posted few minutes ago are the part of the final work i'm making for the second year of Marangoni fashion styling course.. This part is called "Top ten scars". The theme is strange, agree, but my concept is "weirdo diary", so the top 10 matches quite well :)
By the way, the author of first posted works in black and white is Georges Rouault... Genious, as for me.. Actually I'm trying to find now something more about him ... See you later...
Today I've visited a fabulous expo dedicated to Fransisco Goya and his impact on whole century of the european art-scene. It's really incomprehensible and almost mystical how the art everytime returns to itself and retraces its own roots. The expo explores an influnce of Goyas' portraits wich anticipated the birth of romantic portraits of Declaroix and David, the vision of the real human with a turbulent soul, feelings and thoughts. Throughout the expo we'll arrive towards Francis Bacon portaraits, Arnold Schoenberg selfportraits and Frank Auerbach and we really see a guiding red line that unites all that masterpieces with a Goya's touch of sensibility, irony and grotesque. I post some of his gravure from a Desperates series, where he tries to depict the main humanbeing's worries, fears and some obscene sides of life, depicting them he's sure to dominate them. The other pic I post is A Picasso portrait which impressed me too much. It's presence at the expo due to a sensible and almost romantic approach to a portrait was so refreshing!.. A Picasso being already in cubist group decides to try himself in a classical portrait depicting "Mujer con mantilla" - a portrait of a woman with the characteristal spanish traits in a typical spanish clothes. He uses a pointilism technics and a concept of non-finished reasoning this way on an essence of art. It's a Picasso from an absolutely another point of view. So, I'd say that it's worth seeing 100%)
